Format of the LanguageCert Exam 

The LanguageCert Academic exam consists of four main sections: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. Designed specifically for those applying for university entrance exams, it tailors to young adults aged 18 and above.

The exam conducts the written component, which encompasses Listening, Reading, and Writing, in a computer-based format and has a duration of approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. In contrast, the Speaking segment includes an online interview with a live dialogue partner, lasting up to 15 minutes.

Official results become available in just 5 working days, offering timely feedback to candidates.

Exam Structure

The test is structured with specific time periods given to each section:

• Listening: 40 minutes
• Reading: 50 minutes

There are a total of 30 questions across different parts of the test:

Part 1:

Listen to 7 unfinished dialogues and choose the appropriate completion from the multiple-choice responses.

Part 2:

Listen to a monologue and fill in 7 gaps in a notepad or form with no more than 3 words each time.

Part 4:

Listen to a group discussion and answer 6 multiple-choice questions.

Passing Grade of the LanguageCert Exam

A LanguageCert exam comprises a total of 150 marks. Students achieving a high grade of 101 or above are acknowledged with a High Pass grade. This indicates strong prospects for securing admission abroad. Those with grades between 75 to 100 are considered to have passed and may have the opportunity to secure admission. This, however, is based on their portfolio, academic performance, and extracurricular achievements. Contrastingly, students who score less than 74 marks are deemed to have failed and must retake the test if they intend to secure admission abroad.
